The traditional way of handling victims of domestic violence has always been imposing and prescribing care and treatment respectively. However, due to the advancement of technology and further research, there has been development in treating these victims, (Van der Kolk, McFarlane, & Weisæth, (Eds.). 2012). The research has shown the need to understand the effects of domestic violence on the victim, especially on their brain and its development.
