Christians sees marriage as a deep connection with God as man and woman come together to serve him as one. Christians consider marriage the corner stone of a family unit.
The Jews view marriage as a holy and sanctified union between man and woman who have come together to fulfill Gods commandment. Marriage is considered as the ideal human state where the man and woman come together to become one flesh.
Islamic religion regards marriage as a religious duty which is viewed as social necessity and moral safeguard. This also curbs sexual desires and makes one not become a slave to their own desires.
Marriage is considered one of the essential sanakaras (sacraments) and every Hindu must marry. Marriage has a function of procreation through the union of man and woman.
Buddhism does not see marriage as a religious duty but more of an individual choice and they are liberal about this view.
The catholics view marriage as a covenant between man and woman, which should last a lifetime. This lifetime covenant involves loving each other and God, who is the author of marriage and has endowed the sacred union with proper laws.
