ACCT 5906 – Financial Literacy for Business Decisions Term 1, 2022 Final Exam Outline and Details Time and Location: As advised on the UNSW Examination Timetable. There will be 2 hours and ten minutes to complete the exam. The exam will be open book. You will not be provided with a calculator in the exam. Exam Format: There are 5 (five) questions, of unequal value. Question 1 requires an understanding of how transactions impact on financial statements and how they are calculated. The question is based on material from Weeks 1-4. Question 1 is worth 22 marks. Question 2 requires a basic understanding of financial statement (ratio) analysis and how transactions impact on financial statements. It is not testing your ability to memorise ratios. You will be provided with a list of common ratios (see the example at the end of this document). The question is based on material from Week 5. Question 2 is worth 15 marks. Question 3 tests your understanding of the cost of capital and investment decision- making. The question is based on the material from week 9. The question is worth 20 marks. Question 4 considers material from week 6 and week 7 and requires an understanding of fundamental Management Accounting techniques. Question 4 is worth 21 marks. Question 5 is about the use of the Balanced Scorecard and alternative measures of performance, and therefore refers to the material covered in week 5 and week 8. Question 5 is worth 22 marks.
