Essay length: maximum 2,000 words (please note that the bibliography is not included in the word count).

Choose ONE of the following questions to answer:
1. In what ways can a global perspective enhance understandings of masculinities Answer with
reference to AT LEAST TWO of the following phenomena: colonialism, neoliberal capitalism, or
migration.
2. What can a global point of view tell us about immigration controls
3. How can gender be understood in a global perspective In your answer, include a consideration of
feminist thinking on gender from the Global South.
4. To what extent do the understandings and applications of gender equality and women’s
empowerment foster social change in a global context In your answer, include a consideration of
feminist thinking from the Global South.
5. In what ways is racism a global phenomenon
6. To what extent is the governance of religious diversity a global challenge
7. Critically assess multiculturalism as an approach to the equality and inclusion of minorities. You
should discuss any TWO country case examples.
8. Assess the significance of epistemological pluralism for sociology in a global context.
