ELE00123M ELE00123M Research Methods Theory Assignment (100%) – 2021/22 Hand in electronically via the VLE using departmental standard process This assignment assesses your understanding of different research methodologies and your ability to design a research proposal using suitable research strategies and data collection techniques. You are required to write a journal style report using Harvard referencing and a template provided by the module co-ordinator. As part of your assignment, you will be given a particular case study of a real company based in the UK. You will need to carefully review the information from this case study in particular evaluate the challenges they have highlighted in terms of their products/market. You will need to address the following: 1. Discuss your research proposal by identifying a clear research problem related to this case study. 2. What are your research objectives Who will the target audience for your intended research study 3. What methodologies would be suitable to conduct relevant research work so as to address these objectives Discuss the pros and cons of each of these methodologies and then select a research method as part of your research design. You will need to justify your choice. 4. Based on your specific objectives and chosen research methodology, apply the research onion model from Saunders et al. (2009) exploring and discussing each layer in detail. As part of this, you will need to design a structure for your chosen research strategy. 5. Discuss the process of sampling that would be suitable for your chosen research strategy How many samples would you recommend to make this study meaningful How will you make contact with your participants or collect relevant sample 6.
