Zoom Room: Our class is too large for one Zoom room, so we will divide the class alphabetically by last name. We will check Zoom logs vs. Canvas logs after the test, and if things don’t match up, there could be problems for you. The room will open at *about* 12:25, so you get into the waiting room whenever you want and we will let you in when we are ready Be sure that your Zoom name matches your Canvas name. You may be interrupted to change it during the exam if it does not. Have your SFU ID ready (passports are OK) Keep your camera on at all times. Turn off virtual backgrounds. If you are taking the test on campus, the room is AQ4140. We are expecting about 17 people. There will be an invigilator in the room who will check IDs. You should still connect to Zoom. Phones and Devices If you have notes on a separate device like a tablet, you have two choices: Move the notes onto the computer you are using for the test Disable wifi and data during the test, and show it to a TA immediately if they ask. Phones should not be used. If you need a calculator, you can use RStudio or Jupyter. Remember, you already should know how to do 2+2, right Exam format As noted, there will be two parts. The first runs at 12:35-1:05, and the second runs 1:10-1:40. You do not have to be on camera during the break, but you do at the start of the second part. It will contain a mix of multiple choice, short answer, and other similar problems. Where I ask for a number, I always tell you how to present it. Usually this is “round to two digits”, so 123.4567 becomes “123.46”. Sometimes it is “report as in the output”, so 2.2e-16 should literally be reported as “2.2e-16” Some multiple choice questions are part of larger series of questions, and the answer is reported by giving the letter (e.g., A, B, C, or D) corresponding to the answer you want to select. I tell you what to report in these cases. Questions will be delivered one at a time, and you can’t work on the next question until the current one is finished. The test will reference all three study descriptions I sent out. It will use many parts of the results from the R script I sent out. Make sure you have run it and understand what it is doing. There will be some more R code like Lecture 5 script that will be given in a module on Canvas at the time of the test I think there are questions from just about every lecture. Check out the QA recording from Oct 13 or Oct 4 for other things I have said about it. Asking questions If you have questions during the test, either type them into chat *to the host*, or use the “Raise hand” button. I will pull students into a breakout room and answer questions in the order that they appear.
