Answer & Explanation:For this discussion, I have chosen the case
of Casey Anthony. This case, to me, represents miscommunication and the
display of inaccurate information. The circumstances of this case
surround a little girl named Caylee Anthony. Caylee went missing for a
short time while her mother lied to law enforcement and partied as if nothing
happened to her little girl. A short time later, Caylees body was found
in a wooded area and Casey was arrested. During Caseys trial, several
stories came out to the public, even though some of those stories would later
be proven false. The result of her trial ended in her acquittal and she
was allowed to be set free. This case represents a guilty person being
set free and public outrage. Due to the false information and
inconsistencies presented at Caseys trial, the jury found that the evidence
against Casey was irrelevant and she was allowed to be set free. Once she
was released from jail, the public went into an outrage, forcing Casey to go
into hiding for a long time. A few years later, it was stated by her
formed attorney, Jose Baez, that Casey exchanged sexual favors for counsel and
that she indeed did murder her daughter due to her inability to be a mature and
loving mother (Silva, 2016). It is cases like this that cause
miscommunication and misrepresentation in the field of criminal justice.
It is unfortunate, but it does happen.
