The USA
national board of education is concerned about college graduation rates and has
hired you as a consultant to investigate what drives these rates. Specifically,
they are interested in understanding what factors influence the graduation rate
(percentage of enrolled students who graduate), whether college education aids
social mobility, and if the percentage of faculty holding PhDs or terminal
degrees makes a difference. Your task is to analyze these factors using the
dataset provided (college.csv) and produce a report that identifies the key
drivers of graduation rates and quantifies their impact. The report should
include both graphical and numerical analysis, for example scatter plots
showing the relationship between each variable and graduation rates.
The
assignment includes: 1) A detailed description of the data preparation process,
2) Descriptive statistics of the main variables presented both graphically and
numerically, ensuring the visuals clarify the data, 3) A description of the
analytical procedures used and their appropriateness, 4) The results of the
analysis, 5) Interpretations of the results
Additionally,
the analysis files should be provided (e.g., Excel, Real Statistics, Tableau and/or
JASP). For classical statistical analysis Excel including Real Statistics or
JASP can be used. For visualizations Tableau needs to be used.
