To practice your civic engagement and active citizenship skills, write a dummy
To practice your civic engagement and active citizenship skills, write a dummy letter of concern about any specific issue we have studied in Modules 5-14 of this course (i.e. pick one directly related to any the following subjects: NATO and European Security Issues, U.S. Middle East Policy, or Matters of Technology Denial and/or U.S.-Chinese Trade Relations). Write it to a member of the U.S. Congress or an official of the Executive Branch with authority over the subject. Be sure you identify the current office holder, and use appropriate street address, means of addressing the official, language and etiquette, and explain your positions and advice clearly and convincingly, supporting your contentions with facts, where relevant! Post the dummy letter in this forum, creating a new thread with a descriptive subject line. Your letter post should be at least 200 words long, but not longer than 400. Post at least ONE critique post of at least 100 words length in response to other students letters. Remember, good critiques involve neither thoughtless praise, nor personal criticism, but try to explain objectively the better and worse features of the piece of work critiqued!!!
