terminology in Charters’ “Elements of Fiction” or the informational  readings on poetry when you analyze stories or
poems.
·       DO pose your
own questions about the texts and develop your own interpretation by attempting
to answer them.
·       DO edit each
post for correct grammar and mechanics.
·       DO include an
MLA-style Works Cited list and use parenthetical page numbers for stories and
essays or line numbers for poems.
·       Do break your discussion
post into paragraphs. It’s much easier on my tired old eyes.
·       DON’T miss
deadlines.
·       DON’T forget
the Three Qs – quotations, literary qualities, and questions.
·       DON’T bother summarizing
a text that we have all read.
·       DON’T post a
response before you read it over and check grammar as well      as MLA format.
·       DON’T copy
anyone else’s words or ideas about a text from a website or        other source. If you feel compelled to consult
Sparknotes or similar        sites, be
sure to give that source credit through an MLA-style citation..
