The topic of this essay could be anything weve covered, e.g. climate change, renewable energy, environmental injustice, even something we might not have addressed if its directly relevant to environmental economics. The only requirement is that you argue why a solution will or wont work for a problem, using identified concepts from the course. The free-rider problem, transaction costs, Pigouvian taxes, or sorting are all potential examples. They are present in our lives and our goal is for you to be able to explain problems in your own words through the lens of economic analysis.
