The Liberian Heritage Society was founded in 2020 to preserve and promote Liberian culture and historical heritage. Encourage tourism and to educate and share information amongst cultural organizations and entities. Inspire Liberians in the diaspora to reclaim their pride as Liberians through media platforms as a way of encouraging them to invest in their cultural heritage by investing in Liberia.
Since its inception, we have connected with tens of thousands of Liberians, first, second and third generation Liberians, African-Americans whom had ancestors that left America to move back and form the nation of Liberia. Im writing this letter to allow you to know who we are and what we do in Liberia and its diaspora. All of our projects for the past year has been funded out of pocket with the exception of our Coronavirus Awareness Video which was funded by not only me but, a medical dictor close to our family and a relative. In the past year my husband and I have spent approximately 10,000 usd to fund our ongoing projects in Liberia. We decided to spend this money not just for love of oyr country but as a way to promote and instill pride amongst ourselves. Do a simple Google search of Liberia and right away most people become deterred. Through our organization we are able to show how great Liberia was, is and can be. We are a nation of many firsts. First female President in Africa was a Liberian, First Black neuroscientist in the world, was a Liberian and we had the only African female President of the United Nations General Assembly.
We have a great history that hasnt been shared with the world and amongst the new generation of Liberia. We have instill pride and interest amongst many Liberians by revealing our hidden past and letting the world know we are more than just war and ebola. With appealing for financial assistance in the firms of grants I can assure you we will fulfill the purpose of the organization by producing quality films to encourage investors to look at Liberia. To encourage Liberians to take pride in our cultural heritage by supporting projects that will help preserve our culture. And to help in Liberians in the diaspora reconnect with their roots through DNA testing.
