This assignment consists of writing 5 journal entries about political events that will transpire during our class. Meaning you can use articles from the first day of class (February 16) up until the day its due. Journal entries can cover American politics at any level of government, whether federal, state, or local. The journal will be due on Sunday, December 5 and you will submit it in Canvas as a doc or pdf file. It should have a cover page, be double spaced all throughout, typical font (i.e., Times New Roman) size 12, 1 inch margins top/bottom and right/left.
Each journal entry should be structured the following way, failure to follow these instructions will result in points being deducted from your grade:
Journal Entry #1 , Journal Entry #2, Journal Entry #3, etc.
Electronic source: ie., www.cnn.com (Links to an external site.), www.msnbc.com (Links to an external site.), www.news.yahoo.com (Links to an external site.), etc.
Specific Webpage: ie., http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/Americas/7238214.stm (Links to an external site.)
Title and date of the article: Obama Touts Big Bold Action, February 9, 2009
Summary and Content Analysis: here you should provide a well-rounded summary of the article in at least three to four healthy paragraphs. Then, in a couple of additional paragraphs you should discuss how it relates to the course/content/chapter, and the specific topic covered during the semester. NOTE: Your five journal entries should be drawn from five different electronic sources, meaning five different websites, drawn from five different dates during our semester, not all from the same day. They should also cover five different topics and they should all be submitted in one document, meaning send 1 attachment not 5 different attachments (this can be easily done by writing up your 1st entry and saving the document, when you are ready to complete your 2nd, go back to the saved document and add that entry to it, when you are ready to complete your 3rd, go back to the saved document and add to it, the same would apply to entries #4 and #5).
6. Each journal entry should be about 1.5-2 pages long.
