Instruction:
Last week, you gathered information and continued to work on your applied project. This week, you will write an outline of the applied project. Before you start writing, I suggest you brainstorm (list all ideas regarding your applied project) organize (remove things that are less important/relevant, keep only things youd like to include in your paper) order (arrange materials from general to specific) label (create the headings of sections)
In your outline, you can either use bullet points or write full sentences (any format is fine). Have the heading of each section and briefly write down what youll include in each section. Your outline will sufficiently include the following:
Introduction
Introduce the company youve chosen and provide brief background information about the company (mission, business model, size, history, etc; do not overwrite this part)
Determine the scope of your paper. For example, you may evaluate the DEI initiatives in recruiting and hiring only or overall HR areas.
Tip: the introduction part will start broadly, giving a big picture and sparking readers interest. Then, you will go specific
Body parts
Focus on one topic at a time.
Describe the research methods used to collect data on the companys DEI initiative/
Analyze and interpret. Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of those initiatives. Use data, statistics, and examples to support your analysis.
May include examples that the company can benchmark. Provide empirical evidence or articles that can support your argument.
Based on your analysis, suggest specific improvements that the company can make to its DEI initiatives. Be specific and provide examples.
Conclusion
Summarize your findings. Was there anything this company is doing well and should keep it? Was there anything this company should consider fixing/replacing? What is your recommendation?
How can your analysis benefit this company?
Emphasize the importance of DEI initiatives in todays business world.
