Research Essay (5-6 pages): The final assignment of this course is a research essay that ties together all of the work you have done previously in practicing academic writing. Your essay will offer an argument on a topic that is supported by at least 5 different scholarly sources. Beginning with an introductory paragraph that introduces your topic, thesis, and papers structure, your paper will rely on summary, critique, and synthesis, to construct an original thesis.
Then, through the rest of your essay, you will construct a logical argument supported by evidence, before ending with a conclusion paragraph that reiterates your argument and gestures towards its significance.
