This module discusses how demographics (e.g. social class, race/ethnicity, sexuality, parents age, marital status, parental educational level, family organization) play a critical role in childrens outcomes. Identify a particular issue that you would like to further explore. How do demographic factors and social constructions associated with this issue impact childrens life opportunities? Do social institutions support families facing the particular issue that you are examining or do they create inequalities for these children and families? Do these demographics and corresponding social constructions perpetuate a childs class status? Explore this issue by integrating information from a minimum of two academic or government sources as well as the text and content guides to support your thesis.
