I want you to analyze the works. I do not want you to tell me what people online think the artwork means.  If you feel like you need to research the historical context, that is acceptable. If you feel like you need to research the symbolic meaning of objects within the work, that is acceptable. If you do use outside sources to strengthen your analysis, you need to cite them. Ultimately, as you attempt to analyze these works, try your best. There will be some variation of our interpretations on content because we have different experiences. As long as you are close to the accepted interpretation, you will not be graded down because of it.
