Your research questions will consist of a brief discussion of the importance of your question and the existing knowledge in that area followed by your question. This should be about 1 – 2 paragraphs.
Example Rough Draft:
While altruism is a greatly studied topic in multiple fields including Experimental Economics, Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, and others, there are gaps in the literature on the subject. In my review of the literature, I have found plentiful examples of the effects of an increased income of the participants going into the experiment. Two primary examples of this are Hoffman’s 2011 analysis of the effects of higher income in the Holocaust, and Chowdhury, et al.’s analysis in which they varied the show-up fee before conducting dictator games. Despite this, there appears to little scientific study on the impact of increases in the amount of money available to be split. This is an important factor to consider due to its impact on how much charitable giving can be relied upon to fill gaps in public spending. As such, my experiment will attempt to answer this question: Does altruism display a positive or negative correlation with an increasing pool of money to be divided?
