The initial American Dream of the 1950s was a simple one: enough income to afford your own house and enough generational wealth to ensure your children were better off than you were.
Much of that was denied to African Americans. So now, your generation must redefine that dream and find a way to implement it.
What is the African American Dream of the 21st Century and why? Questions to consider:
-How does this dream differ from that of your parents and grandparents? You may want to interview them to get some ideas.
-What are some causes of this change?
-How will the new dream be implemented?
Requirements:
-4 pages (1000 words) minimum
-Good organization and strong essay parts
-minimum 4 quotes from texts including two (2) from outside sources (not our readings). Interviews with parents/grandparents can only count as one outside source. You may use multiple quotes, but you must find at least one outside article to quote
-acceptable level of grammar including few major mistakes
