Final Project Proposal Assignment: ( I did ) I choose the topic of sea level rise as my final project topic. I will specifically focus on how my hometown of San Francisco will be affected by sea level rise. According to United Nations statistics, due to the direct impact of climate change, sea level in the global ocean has increased by 15-20cm since 1900. Until recently, sea level The increase is due to the increased volume of water because of the higher temperature. Around the world, many countries have had to warn about sea level rise or people have to evacuate because sea water engulfs coastal areas.Today, the phenomenon of melting glaciers, especially the ice sheets at the top of Greenland in the North Atlantic and Antarctica, have become the main cause of rapid sea level rise. I have chosen the residence of my block in San Francisco because these are my neighbors and fellow citizens as the target audience for my presentation on future sea level rise in San Francisco. Climate change is becoming more and more serious on Earth. In particular, with hundreds of millions of people displaced from their homes due to sea level rise, a certain scenario in the near future – will forever be an “evacuation” with no return date. I will be writing an article for my local newspaper.
