this essay is for a humanities class. The purpose is to write a thesis driven essay where the texts are examined and connected in a meaningful way.The whole idea of the essay is to create a thesis that meaningfully uses both texts and the sets about supporting that thesis with evidence from the texts. The professor asks that the thesis makes an arguable claim that requires evidence and a point about the significance of the evidence that would not be obvious to the reader. An idea for a thesis for this essay would be to connect both texts to the value of honesty and how the truth sets one free. In both of these texts the characters lie and pay the price for it, they end up learning the value of trust and honesty. We are supposed to use in text citations, MLA format, and parenthetical citations. I am looking for a B+ to A- grade. He also looks for explicit indications that we have been reading the texts carefully. The humanities are deeply interested in not only what it said, but also how it is said. He wants us to introduce and explain the texts we are quoting, paraphrasing, or summarizing. thank you.
