Students will research a selected (or assigned) topic and produce a PowerPoint presentation that details a proposed (actual or fictional) companys general logistics program. his report must include the necessary attributes of a brief company profile description of product/service customer base profile -procurement/supplier profile. The detailed portion of the report will include a description of the firms facilities (manufacturing/warehousing, etc), distribution channel(s), mode(s) of transport selection and traffic concerns, packaging, shipping costs, documentation, and claims. Keep in mind that the report should be focused on the logistics portion of the companys strategic plan, and the majority of the effort should be concentrated in that area.
You may choose any company for this Logistics Plan Report EXCEPT WALMART AND AMAZON. I WILL NOT ACCEPT REPORTS FROM THOSE TWO COMPANIES.
PowerPoint Presentation
Students will prepare a presentation using PowerPoint software, be a minimum of 6-8 slides long and highlight key findings from the research. Each Student will prepare his/her business plan as if they were the Vice President of Logistics for the company, they are doing the business plan on. The presentation should include visuals of all charts, graphs, etc. as included in the
Summary Written Report below.
Written Report
The report should be word processed using standard course formatting. Layout should be in formal report style (MLA) using appropriate headings. Citations should be documented appropriately in the body of the report. A works cited page should be included. Copies of reference articles should be attached as an appendix to the report. This logistics plan report should be no more than 4-5 pages plus appendixes.
