This week we will focus on basic logic and how you can use logic outside of the classroom. Unfortunately, many of our daily interactions include logical errors.Consider a recent interaction you have had with another person or an item that you saw in the media that demonstrated a logical error as defined in your readings for this week. Share the example as well as the logical errors that are present in the example. Be sure to state the error in the format that is used in your readings.

Kelsey Moilanen- My husband, daughter and I go to the gym together three days a week. I sometimes like to go on my own because there are things I like to do they do not like to do. Sometimes my daughter because we do things together my husband refuses to do. There are also times that I want to do certain workouts when we go to the gym together on my own, and my family gets upset because I’m not spending time with them. I have made a chart to break up all the things we like to do together and things we like to do separately. I am hoping this will help us make a schedule that way we can rotate what we all like to do without any one feeling left out. I feel like I should probably make another graph on what areas get the most attention during these workouts to ensure that our entire body does get a work out. I font want to have a week that I am only focusing on my arms.
I have attached the venn diagram of what me and my family do together and seperatley.

Deb Conrad-
As discussed in subsection 4.10, Venn diagrams are a very helpful way to show the relationships between different sets of things. The rectangle that contains the sets is called the universal set. Inside the universal set, are various sets and subsets.
For example, the food in my kitchen might be the universal set of all food that I have available for dinner. Inside that universal set is a set of things that I will cook for dinner and a separate set of things that my husband will eat for dinner. The overlapping area is what I actually cook for dinner. Here’s a visual of a recent conversation that I had with my husband:
When I asked him for dinner suggestions, he suggested a number of things. This was the set of what he was willing to eat that night. I had my own set of what I was willing to cook. Thankfully, there was overlap. This intersection was what I made for dinner and what my husband ate for dinner.
What if there is no overlap? Then, the sets are disjoint because there are no common elements. When that happens at our house, we usually go out for pizza.
