Students are required to submit a research paper in which they will analyze one issue related to the criminal justice system in the US or with criminology. This paper should have a minimum length of 10 pages and a maximum length of 15 pages, not including title page. The final paper should include and be organized in the following way: 1) introduction (1 page); 2) describe the issue you are analyzing, its origins, and why is it important (3-4 pages); 3) explain what/who is that issue affecting and how it is doing so (3-4 pages); 4) state what has been done and could be done to solve it (3-4 pages); 5) conclusions (1 page), and 6) references (1 page). Students are required to cite at least 10 sources; at least three of those sources should be peer-reviewed articles (https://scholar.google.com/ ). The paper should be written academically, in Times New Roman, 12 font, 1-inch margins, and following APA style. Please do not use Wikipedia as a reference. The syllabus provides a guide about how to write the research paper. You must follow that guide.
