Graphical Novel and Film Analysis

The graphic novel on “V for Vendetta” describes the ancient ruling in United Kingdom and the changes that occurred after a nuclear war. The graphical novel major theme is violent argument that leads to hatred and revenge mission. The consequences of war are urbanization of United Kingdom, immigration and economic growth. The graphical novel has three sections that sequentially the European reign before nuclear war, events during a nuclear war, and European reign after a nuclear war. K. Sherlock’s study guide says that community services and awards results to the fast development in United Kingdom. Racism became high in production industries resulting to rivalry between blacks and whites. High production rate results to increase in economic growth and rise of living standards. An analysis of the V for Vendetta graphical novel and the film reveals the urban and moral decay in the society; modernization is leading to urban decay, violence, crime, and prostitution.

The dangers of urbanization increase with an increase in economic growth. K. Sherlock and fellow classmates say that history determines the future of the nation economic status. The war due to racism results to the formation of democratic solutions that enhance good public image of the United Kingdom. Production of the film “V for Vendetta” gives a visual explanation of the rivalry among the warring races. The film gives a snapshot of the future prediction of the United Kingdom. The likelihood of wars, revolution, crime and prostitution is increasing in the modernized world. I say that revolution and modernization are resulting to changes social life. The unchangeable fact on the urban riots and fights result to the creation of territories and zones. The moral decay in the society is as results of deterioration of actions, behaviours, and decisions. The characters in the graphical novel and film depict lack of ethical consideration and moral codes.

The theme urban and moral decay are evident in the film “V for Vendetta” in terms of oppression, homosexuality, prostitution and rape. The rate of imprisonment is high especially in camps. Some characters in the film get tortured in the city and escape incidences of rape. Secret sets of members of the society are trying to eliminate the bad morals in the society through posing as secret policemen. Criminal courts are active with cases on attempted rape, robbery with violence and other forms of inhumane acts in the society. The urbanization process is leading to urban migration leading to high population in the cities. High population in the cities results to congestion reduced job opportunities and increased crime rate. The destruction process also increases in the cities leading to setting up emergency measures to prevent extra demolitions.

According to Manohla Dargis critics and previews, secret policemen are essential in the society in order to eliminate the bad traits and reduce moral decay in the urban centres. The crime rate and moral decay in the urban centres give the government policemen tough time resulting them to boycotting duties. The reporters and media stations are active collecting news on new incidences of crime or identifying immoral acts in the society like killings, homosexuality or rape. Urbanization results to the creation of illegal jobs like black market and human experimentation. Manohla Dargis says that crime require collaboration with members of the society and some policemen rebels. The choice of my urban and moral decay theme is to expose the bad traits in the society due to urbanization and increase in number of people visiting the cities. Exposing the immoral acts is essential for the government in providing corrective measures and new mechanisms of handling similar cases in the cities.

The rhetorical arguments in the movie and novel involve identification of V. The secret policeman aims to restore good morals in the urbanized cities. The political powers affect the morality of the urban cities. It remains unclear ways of reducing political influence in inhumane acts. It is rhetorical to be within the government and fighting against the government. Evey observes the acts of V and decides to seek refuge since he seems to be untrustworthy person. Experimentation on humans remains rhetorical argument among the government officials. Government officials are unable to find the identity of V. The arguments on Rebecca Jones article on rhetorical incidences get basis from the biological processes. Rebecca Jones arguments relates to the tracing of V using the bio-weapon program.

Rebecca Jones says that an advance in science research is resulting to the formation of programs that understand human’s mind. The creation of human programs results to alteration of memory and experiences within the human brain. Overall product after scientific manipulation is a superhuman that get control from a supercomputer database. Alan Moore, David Lloyd, and James McTeigue’s arguments on the contemporary society are on the struggle for freedom that results to urbanization and deterioration of morality in the society. In conclusion, the film and graphical novel on “V for vendetta” shows the modernization process and the consequences of modernization.
