You can choose any topic that is dealt with in the course materials. Make it large enough to be flexible, but specific enough so that I understand what you want to research. There are three components to the topic assignment: a. What is the historical setting which introduces the topic? (Where in the history of missions to we first encounter this discussion or at least on what part of history or on which theory will you focus the paper?) b. What are the theological issues/principles involved? c. How do those issues/principles apply to missions in a contemporary context?
